PROP DESIGN, VISUAL PRODUCTION
I was the Co-Visual Director in charge of the drill, props, costume and flag design, choreography, and production. This marching band show encompasses the idea of the imagination. The story takes you through a forest of pine trees, and once you cross over the bridge, you are in an enchanted forest with unique colorful trees.
This show utilizes a large wooden bridge that can be taken apart and moved quickly on and off the field for each performance. It was split in two halves and moved on a cart to its location placement on the field. Once put together, it fastened on both ends making it stable to walk across.
The tress worked on a pulley system. Each tree prop consisted a large square of cloth with a a multi colored mystical tree was on top of another piece of cloth with a black pine tree underneath. During the performance once the bridge was crossed, a pulley was pulled from behind each tree prop to drop the multi colored tree cloths for the reveal.
Each flag silk was hand sewn and hand dyed.
