PROP DESIGN, VISUAL PRODUCTION
I was the Co-Visual Director in charge of the drill, props, costume and flag design, choreography, and production. This marching band show reflects the circus and takes your through the journey of tightrope walkers.
This show had a large mast with draped fabric resembling a circus tent. There were multiple wooden platforms across the front of the field representing the barrier around the circus ring. Each prop had to be light enough to be moved quickly on and off the field as well as stable enough be stood on by performers.
Each costume was fit to the performer and embellished with handmade boutonnieres. Umbrellas were used during a tightrope walking ballad – each was hand stoned with gems.
Flag silks and costumes were selected and created visual effect and interest.
